Bill was born on October 30, 1932 to William and Pearl Patterson in Hanford, California where he was the oldest of two siblings. As a child the family moved from Corcoran to Salinas where he attended Salinas High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps, serving aboard the USS Hancock (CVA-19).
Following his military service he returned to Salinas where he met his future wife Donna Oram while attending the Pentecostal Bible College in Gilroy. Bill and Donna were married in November 1958 and remained lovingly together until his passing.
Bill enjoyed a long career in various sales and sales management positions where his love of sales and the relationships he developed in the process were strong and unique. For a period of time he also owned a retail furniture store in Salinas.
Following retirement in 2000, he and Donna moved to Surprise, Arizona where they enjoyed traveling and numerous activities with friends and family. Bill loved the Lord, the Marine Corps and his family. He was as loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved spending time with them. The family adored Bill and is blessed to have spent so much time with him throughout his life and will cherish the memories they have.
Bill is remembered by all that knew him for his never-ending sense of humor as he loved to pull pranks and jokes on friends and family throughout his lifetime. The stories and memories of these have provided a lifetime of laughter and will continue to do so in perpetuity.
Bill is Survived by his wife Donna, son Russ (Emily), four grandchildren, Nicole Sanchez (Steven), Rusty Patterson (Rebecca), Nate Patterson (Jessica) and Kash Patterson, three great-grandchildren, Jake Marsters, Henley Patterson and Carter Sanchez and 5 nephews, Terry Jones, Jeff Jones, Jim Peugh, Troy Hoover and Chris Hoover.
The family will be holding a private service to honor him.
