Wanda Sanchez

Wanda Sanchez, age 72, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 25, 1950 in Dyersburg Tennessee, to Moses and Juanita Estes. Soon after, her family consisting of her father, mother, and sister (Glenda) moved to the Chicagoland area during which they welcomed their third sister, Judy. Wanda graduated from Austin High School in 1967, received her BS from Loyola University in 1996 and a Masters in Communication degree from Loyola University in 2000. She was married to Matias Sanchez on March 17, 1974, in Berwyn, Illinois. Wanda worked for Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL for 35+ years until retiring and moving to Surprise, Arizona. Wanda was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Juanita Estes and Son, Mathew Guy Sanchez. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Matias; sons, Jonathan Kelly; Adam and his wife Nicole; grandson, Logan Sanchez and granddaughter, Emily Sanchez; sisters, Glenda Fournier and Judy Estes; nephew, Kevin Fournier and his wife Kelly; and great niece, Megan and great, nephew Joshua.
