It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sonya Cheney, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left us at the age of 67. Sonya was married to her soulmate, Dennis for 47 years, and together they created a loving home for their two children, Andrew and Jessica. She was a devoted grandmother to Jasmin and Jadalin, who affectionately called her Nana.
Known for her warmth and kindness, Sonya had a unique ability to touch the hearts of everyone she met. Friends and family often described her as the kindest, most caring person, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her spirit and compassion made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
Sonya’s legacy of love and kindness will continue through her family and the countless lives she enriched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A celebration of Sonya’s life will be held on November 30th at 2pm at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 West Bell Road, Surprise, Arizona 85374.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to World Vision in her name.
