Richard Robert Moriarty, 74, died suddenly March 8, 2014, of a heart attack. He was at home in Phoenix doing one of the things he enjoyed most: spending time with his wife and caring for their lovely house, garden and pool. Richard was born November 13, 1939, in Agawam, Mass. After serving 4 years in the Air Force, he embarked on a series of adventurous careers, which included international deep sea surveying, dealing cards in Las Vegas, and selling commercial real estate in Florida. He then settled in Phoenix and spent 20 years running his own business, A&D Landscape Maintenance. Shortly after he retired in 2004, he joined Enterprise Rental Cars, working his last day there as a crew chief on March 7. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Ruth Boatman, stepfather Willie Boatman, sister Linda Daniels, and dear friend Joel. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Arlene Ramsey, daughter Michele Moriarty, sister Judy Fox, and many nieces and nephews. Richard was an avid reader, expert poker player, and trivia buff. He had a soft, kind, generous heart and loved spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all. Richard's favorite charitable organization was Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741.
