Pete Regier died Monday, September 18, 2017 following a long illness. A memorial service will be held at First Mennonite Church, Phoenix, Arizona, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Friesen Cemetery, Henderson, NE.
Pete was born February 28, 1931 in Henderson, NE. He was the son of Isaac and Katharina (Siebert) Regier. Pete received his elementary education in a one room school house in Hamilton County. He worked on the farm and for neighbors. Then he moved to Omaha, Nebraska and worked for Vickers Inc.
In 1960 he married Eleanor Manz of Phoenix, Arizona. One son Bruce was born May of 1967. In Phoenix, Arizona Pete worked for Maricopa County for 4 years and then was hired by Motorola for 25 years in the Computer Department. He retired in 1991 and they moved to Sun City Grand in Surprise, Arizona.
Pete was a member of First Mennonite Church. He was an usher and a trustee for many years.
Pete is Survived by his wife Eleanor and son Bruce. Also a sister Lavina (David) Quiring of Henderson, Nebraska, and lots of nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Irvin (Helen) Regier, Alfred (Jeannette) Regier, sister’s Marie Regier, Mathilda (Edwin) O’Toole, Elsie (Jacob) Friesen and brother-in-law David Quiring.
