

Maxine LoRee Voigt was born on July 16, 1926 to Charles and Ollie Tryon in Colby, Kansas. At an early age her family moved to Colorado. In 1940 the Tryon family moved to San Francisco. Maxine(Mackie) attended and graduated from Commerce high school in San Francisco in the spring of 1944.
While in high school Mackie met a man named Bob Voigt, he carried her books home whenever he was allowed. Bob was drafted in the US Army in April of 1943. She and Bob reunited after the war and were married on September 14, 1947. In 1948 Bob and Mackie moved to San Rafael, California where they became busy raising 5 children. In November 1957 they packed up and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. In 1962 they were blessed with their last child.
In her life Maxine was to suffer from cancer, which she overcame. For years after she drove 100’s of patients to a doctor appointment for cancer related diseases. She attended Glendale Community college and became proficient in pottery design and manufacture. She was a square dancer for over 40 years, a macramé crafter, a Sunday school teacher at Christ Presbyterian Church, a clarinet player and a loved wife and mother.
Maxine went to be with Jesus on April 2, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. She is survived by her brothers Dennis and David. Also surviving here are her children: Robert, LoRee, Virginia, Linda, Bill and Brian; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild that was born two days after her passing.
There will be a memorial service for Maxine at the Christ Presbyterian Church, 925 N. Sarival Ave. Goodyear on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 am.
