Kayla Cheré Matteson

Kayla Chere’ Matteson, a beautiful life lived, passed away into the arms of Jesus, on January 21, 2013. Kayla was born on December 10, 1990, one of three children of Michael and Michelle Matteson, in Glendale, AZ. Kayla was an elite Gymnast and Gymnastics Coach. She attended Dysart High School where she was a Cheer leader and later graduated from Willow Canyon High School. Early on, Kayla had always been athletic, she loved to do handstands…everywhere, making up dance routines with friends and challenging boys in PE class. Kayla had a beautiful, huge smile; she loved her dog, Tonya; painting with her grandmother, riding bikes, doing jumps with her brothers and spending time with family camping and fishing at the Mogollon Rim. Kayla is survived by her loving parents, Michael and Michelle Matteson; two brothers Kyle Matteson, and Christopher Wayne and sister in-law Angela; grandparents Robert P. and Katherine Wayne, and John and Virginia Matteson; a host of aunts, uncles, a niece, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be at 6:30 PM, Friday, February 1, 2013 at Palm Vista Baptist Church, 17475 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, AZ. Arrangements are entrusted to Surprise Funeral Care, Surprise AZ.
