I have always admired Judy. She was my mentor and supervisor in 1979 at Bethesda Lutheran Hospital giving me the opportunity to learn Microbiology. When I was pregnant with my first child in 1981, Judy generously gifted me with my son's first baby gift, a Winnie the Pooh teddy bear! 

I had the opportunity to visit her and Dan 12 years ago in Glendale,AZ.  Just a month ago I stopped at their beautiful house a second time.
Judy surprised me by bringing out a box of pictures I had sent with my Christmas greetings through the years. The first was a picture of my son  in 1981 when he was 4 months old. It was quite an experience seeing  my history through the eyes of my special friend forever!

I am planning to start 2022 by reading Judy's book. My condolences to the Grout family.



Karen,  so sorry to hear about your mother.  She sounds like a fabulous woman.  It's never easy to lose someone who is such a big part of your life but the memories will sustain you through this time.  You and your family will be in my prayers.  I'm always looking for a new book and I can't wait to read "Chasing the Strawberry Moon"

Karen, I am so sorry for your loss.  You have been an extraordinary leader to me at USAA and I just wanted to offer my condolences.  I'm guessing that the soft spoken, confident, smart and servant leader that you are may have come from your mother based on reading her accomplishments.  I hold you and your family up in prayer.

I am a very sorry to hear about Judith's passing and offer my sincere condolences to her family and other friends. She was a good person, and a very thorough, kind and thoughtful person I enjoyed getting to know over a few years. I am glad our paths in life crossed. When I hear of or see a Strawberry Moon I will think of her, and think of the delight she took in the inner journey of writing.

Today,  I  received a message on my cell phone. How sad that we don't keep in touch with friends and loved ones we knew so well and spent so much time with in our past life.  I loved working with Judy as my supervisor. She  was fun, kind, knowledgeable, driven goal oriented, caring, and I could go on and on! I read her book, which I enjoyed. She said she wanted to write a book on clinical laboratory practices or something like that. For some reason, I remembered her birthday, got a card and prepared to mail in a day or two.  Then, I got the message. Judy loved her family more than anything!  I wish I would have called her sooner,  I wish she could have received all our cards.  Yolanda

Judy was a lovely woman and we were blessed to get to know her through Dan.  She was always friendly and gracious and had such an elegant air about her.  I will always cherish reading her book and discussing its origins and process with her.  She will be truly missed by so many.
