On Sunday, January 21st, 2024, Janice Marie Gaiser, a beloved grandmother, mother, and friend, passed away at the age of 72. Jan, as she was affectionately known, was a source of love and kindness in the lives of those who knew her.
Born in Webster, NY, a suburb of Rochester, to Cyrus and Eleanor, Jan grew up in a large household with four siblings. Jan moved across the country and established her life in Phoenix, AZ in 1977. Jan's journey began alongside her husband, Joe, with whom she shared a long marriage and companionship until his passing in 2009. Together, they raised their children, Kelly and Jeremy, in a home filled with love and warmth. Jan's role as a mother was her greatest joy, further brightened by her grandson Zane, who was exceptionally dear to her and brought immense happiness and pride to her life.
After her children were grown, Jan returned to college to pursue a career as a Pharmacy Technician. In this role, she excelled professionally and touched the lives of many with her compassion and friendliness, forging lasting friendships with her colleagues.
Jan had a love of photography and enjoyed capturing the beauty of nature, especially in Sedona, where she enjoyed living for a few years after her children were grown. As a devoted Buffalo Bills fan, Jan never missed a game and cherished every opportunity to bond with fellow fans, sharing her "Bills Mafia" passion.
A big lover of Disney, Jan planned visits to Disneyland at every opportunity, beginning when her children were young and continuing the tradition of summer vacations there, creating lifelong memories. In recent years, she loved creating new memories at Disneyland with her grandson Zane, the apple of her eye. Jan's favorite holiday was undoubtedly Christmas, and she looked forward to all the sights, sounds, and traditions of the season. It was always a special time for her, holding a giant place in her heart.
Jan is fondly remembered for her gentle spirit, fierce determination, and above all, her profound love for her family. Her absence leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness endures.
Jan is survived by her daughter, Kelly McLemore; son, Jeremy Gaiser; son-in-law Dan; grandson Zane; son-in-law Sam Chimienti; and her loving terrier, Rylee. A celebration of life will be held at the end of February, with details to be shared soon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley at www.hov.org.
