Fran, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Jim interviewed me for a job 28 years ago. I remember he was a very nice man. I'll be thinking about you.

 Jim Will be missed by many friends, i first met Jim when working in Burien, we shared the same case load, i was a Wee 11 (financial tech) in Burien & Jim worked for Support Enforcement out of the Seattle Office in 1971, Bob & i moved to Yakima in 1975, later on Jim moved over here, when i was still in the old 5th ave Office, Jim was working down the street in the old Lincoln Office,   while working at the 5th ave office, a very beautiful lil gal by the name of Fran started working there, and the rest was history concerning Fran & Jim. I enjoyed working with Jim in Yakima WA.  I remember him visiting with every single one of his employees every morning ----- coffee cup in hand.  He was really in touch with all of us and cared about what was going on in our lives.  He will be missed.

Jim gave me the opportunity to work with DCS in Yakima in 1990.  What a wonderful example, leader, mentor and friend he was.  Very quiet in his leadership.  I enjoyed so much this time with him, and you as well Fran, as I learned from you as well in working in this office.  The fun opportunities that were there for us in those times remain with me still.  My prayers and thoughts go out to you at this time.  Always know you are cared about and we think of you often.  It is hard,but a blessing to know Jim is finally resting and out of pain.

Our sympathy to the James Ferry family.We all loved and prayed for him. He was in our  family for seventeen years. He was married to my sister-in-law Minnie. She passed away Febuary 24 2012.  Jim was a kind and caring man.  I am sure they are happy and free from pain.God Bless you.

Jim you were a great professional and generous colleague who did great work for the children of the state of Washington. You were missed when you retired and will be missed more now.

Jim and I met in 1978. He always said it was love at first site, but never pursued more than a friendship relationship due to our 20 year age difference. In 1990, I asked if he wanted to go beyond the deep friendship we had and that turned into a wonderful 22 year marriage.

Jim was a gentle, caring, and generous man. He always saw the good in people and life. He saw everyone as equal. In all our years of knowing each other, I never once heard Jim raise his voice or cuss. I remember him hit his thumb with a hammer and all he said after a moment of silence was "that hurt."

He taught me so much. He taught me and my children what a true, loving relationship and marriage is all about. He treated my children as his own even though they were adults when we married. He never criticized me or them, he only tried to be a positive example of being your own person and learning from your mistakes. 

Even before our marriage in 1990, he was my friend and mentor. After we married he was still those, as well as, my partner and love of my life. He always encouraged me to be all I could and go for the goals I set. He encouraged and allowed me to finish college degrees. No matter of what media of art I chose to pursue, no matter what I made he would say it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever saw.  Jim was so supportive and complementary, even up up to his last few days.

Jim always put me first. I never wanted for anything, I had to watch what I said I liked because he would get it for me. Even in last days he wanted to ensure I was taken care of financially and emotionally. He always said I want you to live in the life style in which we've been accustomed to. 

Jim was always so proud of his family. He never spoke poorly of any of them. He was especially proud of his mother's ability to raise 7 children on her own after his father died. He always gave her credit for instilling rich values in him, knowing right from wrong, being honest, and trusting.  After we had been married about 7 years, Jim ran across an old money market certificate he and his first wife, Minnie Schnieder, had purchased together. He cashed it in and sent Minnie her share of over $5,000.00 because it was the right thing to do.

Jim was also proud of his military career. Besides serving his Country, he felt it gave him the opportunity to get his college degrees and be a success. After he retired from the miltary, he had a second career with the State of Washington, Office of (Child) Support Enforcement (OSE) he was also very proud of.  

Jim always said he had a great life. He loved his retirement, getting to run which he loved, and traveling. He had no regrets. He accepted life as it happened, never letting negative things bother him. He accepted dying with dignity, he said it was his finally journey to a better place free from suffering. 

I will miss him, as I know others will too, but I know he has gone on to be with our Heavenly Father and is free from pain and suffering.  He is where he so wanted to be.

In only met Jim once but had the pleasure of working with his wife Fran who spoke about him often.  All those who knew and worked with him had nothing but the highest regard.  My thoughts and prayers are with Fran during this time.

Jim was more than my brother-in-law.  He was also one of my best friends, a great conversationalist and debater-  I will miss him and am so glad that I got to tell him how much he means to me before he left.

Uncle Jim was very special to my sister and I and we will miss him.  I was so grateful to see him at our daughter's wedding in August 2011 and will never forget his kindness and gentle spirit.  Janise Patry and family

My Uncle Jim was just a really nice guy.  We will all miss him.

My uncle will be greatly missed by his family.  We feel his loss tremendously.

Jim was my brother-in-law and  struck me as a man of great stature. When he and my sister Fran married he embraced all of us and we fondly referred to him as 'Honey'. He made my sister happy which meant a great deal to me. We all love Jim and he will be noticeably missed.

Jim I will miss you. You were a great boss and a true friend as well. I was glad to be able to spend time with you on your final days. May God be with you.
