Jacqueline DeLois Taylor

Jacqueline DeLois Taylor, affectionately called either “Mother, Jackie, and Baby” by her loving surviving Husband and simply, Mom from her two Sons; age 82, passed away on June 1, 2023 in Surprise, Arizona. She was born in Dunbar, Virginia on November 15, 1940, daughter of the late Paul Emanuel Isidor Rier and Lucille Virginia Rier, growing up in Big Stone Gap in Virginia.

Unbeknownst to Jackie, Big Stone Gap, Virginia was the place that she would eventually meet her future husband, Tyrone. They have known each other since Elementary school.

Jacqueline graduated from James A. Bland HS Big Stone Gap, VA 1958 - Cum Laude and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Pepperdine University. She was employed as a 2nd & 3rd grade Teacher for over 30 years; 13 of those years for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools at Ramstein Air Base, Germany

Education was always paramount for Jackie who learned from her father - that one always needs to be learning something new each day. She was highly interested in history and could always be counted on to provide wise advice. Most importantly, she was a Christian and as matriarch of the family, ensured that the “Word” was gospel in her family. Jacqueline was actively involved in Ancestry collection and singing in the choir.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved Husband – Tyrone Taylor; Son – Jeffrey H. Taylor; Daughter-in-law Maxi Taylor; Son – Terence T. Taylor; Daughter-in-law Daphne Taylor; Sister – Eulene Cienfuegos; Brother – Paul Rier; Granddaughter - Stephanie Taylor; Grandson – Dominique Taylor; Granddaughter Cristina Taylor; Granddaughter - Shayna Taylor; Grandson – Maximillian Taylor; Grandson Nicholas Taylor: Great Grandson – Hudson Dean; Great Grandson Trae Taylor; Great Granddaughter – Amelia Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews from extended families.
