I am fortunate to have had Jacque as a mother-in-law, and friend.  She welcomed me into her family, was always thoughtful & kind, never said a critical word to me, and was very supportive.  She loved my dog, and never forgot about him at Christmas, and she always remembered and asked about my son, even though he was distant.  She also butt dialed me constantly, which made me laugh every time.  

Jacque, thank you for loving & accepting me.  I will miss your sense of humor, your knowledge of history, your insights on politics, and the comfort I felt just being around you.  You were a star in my life, and I wish you hadn’t left so soon, but you’ve taken your place in the sky among the other stars who meant so much to me.  Rest in peace.  


My Friend.  I'm sad that you are no longer with us; however, blessed that God gave me the privilege to work with you and to become your friend.   I will miss our lunches and wonderful conversations.  You will be always be remembered as a kind and amazing person and my friend.

Jacque was such a sweet, selfless person who came to my rescue many times.  She volunteered to co_lead our Phoebe Circle, led many a bible study lesson, learning Zoom and coordinating everyone.  She helped me with mission sales for Prepare The Way Ministry crafts and was always pitching in on whatever needed to be done.  Jacque loved and was dearly loved back.  It was an honor and pleasure to have known her.

I thank Jacque's family for sharing this dear, generous spirit with the Desert Palms Presbyterian Church family.  Please know we grieve with you but celebrate a life well lived and know she rests in Christ's loving arms.

Jacque was a very dear friend to me.  I know first hand what her family meant to her and how I do not believe she ever met anyone whom she did not like.  If Jacque had a fault it was that she could not say no.  She was always eager to work along side of me helping in any way I asked.  Her smile and demeanor kept everyone going.  I miss her terribly and will certainly never forget what a special friend she was to me.

My beloved Grancy was one of the dearest, most funny, sincere, and generous people to have graced this earth. While she was met with constant obstacles throughout her life, she always persevered, with a sense of humor, and a smile. She was an inspiration and constant source of motivation and laughter and will continue to be as I attempt to follow in her footsteps. 

When I brought my brand new puppy Milo to visit family, Grancy fed him steak off her plate. I wanted to be furious with her-- but because it was her, I couldn't be. She just smiled sweetly at me, and told me "Samantha, he can't live life without trying steak!" He's now a hopeless begger, and lover of all foods. I still can't be mad. 

She taught me the importance of family, of hard work, and showed me the importance of viewing others as human beings, instead of idealized versions of themselves. She was funny, she was sweet, and gave us every opportunity she could. When I was 12, I had the privilege of staying with her for a summer-- she took me to swim with the dolphins, occupied me with library books and rental movies, and loved me full-heartedly. I miss her with all of my heart. I will always remember her smile, her laugh, and her kindness in response to others that may not have deserved it.
