Hiro was born near Hilo, Hawaii on May 17, 1937.
He grew up as the youngest of six children on a sugarcane plantation outside of Hilo.
Hiro served his country for eight years - in the Hawaii National Guard, the Air Force, and the Air Force Reserves
After leaving the armed services, Hiro briefly lived in Colorado, Arizona and then Alaska, before eventually returning to the warmer weather of the Arizona desert.
In 1964 Hiro met the love of his life, married her in 1965 and had a wonderful life together for over 57 years.
Hiro graduated from Grand Canyon University in 1976. He was a cartographer for the State of Arizona for over 35 years.
Hiro was a dedicated husband and a supportive father to their two children. He worked hard and treasured the simple things in life.
Hiro is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, a daughter and son, and four grandchildren.
Thank You Hiro – Your love and kindness was infectious. Your life and moments together will be the brightest memories in all of our lives forever.
A committal service with military honors for Hiro will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
