Nadine was raised and lived in Kansas throughout her childhood and early adulthood. She was working as a bookkeeper when she met her future husband, James (Jim) Warrick Yeager when he came in to apply for a job. They were married in February of 1953 and decided to elope to Oklahoma for a quick wedding before a judge because it was in the middle of income tax season, and they could not get any extra time off from work.
They had four children and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in the mid-1950s. While in Grand Junction, they owned a small 10-acre farm and ran an accounting practice out of a home office. After selling the farm, they lived for a short time in Arizona and New Mexico before moving to Southern California in 1967. While living in California Nadine worked for several companies usually as a bookkeeper or an office manager.
In the early 1970’s, Jim had the opportunity to take over a chiropractic practice in the Phoenix area and she became the office manager for the practice. She continued in that role until he retired. Never one to sit still for long, she began working for the local school district as a teacher’s assistant and then a school bus driver. She continued to drive for the school well into her 70’s.
When two of her grandchildren were just babies, Nadine and Jim stepped up to become their permanent guardians and they raised the boys into adulthood. While undertaking this second go-around at parenting, they became very active in scouting and the Navy Sea Cadet program.
Nadine enjoyed traveling when able and NEVER met an animal she didn’t love. She always had a menagerie including at various times horses, a donkey, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and of course an endless number of cats and dogs. Most children should be lucky enough to be as spoiled as her dogs were.
Nadine was very generous and always willing to help whether it was a local school program, scouting programs, political campaigns, and one of her favorites was the Indian Schools in South Dakota. She would sew, knit, collect school supplies and toys and frequently send care packages to the schools for the students.
Nadine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years Jim in 2020, her parents Bruce and Mildred, her brother Bob, and her daughter Patti-Lynn.
Nadine is survived by her three children, Linda, Rick, and Suzanne; six grandchildren, Brett, Amber, Emma, Jason, Jeremiah, and Pasha; eleven great grandchildren, Emma Marie, Annabelle, Will, Elizabeth, Ryker, Meila, Jaquien, Jazzmine, Addison, Tenley, Rory.
