Evelyn Jean Smith

Evelyn was born October 28, 1925 to Norman L. and Ella M. Tilson in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 340 and the Pythian Sisters Knights Temple #1 in Independence Mo.

She had many interesting employment opportunities in her life, such as handbag sales, switchboard operator, ice cream route and retiring from Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.

Evelyn will be sorely missed by her surviving family: son, David Liles (Debra), Surprise AZ; sister, Jennie McDougal; grandchildren, Rebecca Wiesner (Lawrence), Christopher Liles (Laura), Scott Liles, Jamie Schneider (Scott); Jessica Liles; great grandchildren, Grant Liles, Evan Liles, Duke Wiesner, Colt Wiesner, Brittni Hayes, Tristan Hayes, Seth Schneider, Nathan Mendoza and great great grandchild, Madelynn.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Smith; son, Craig Liles; sisters Madge Holland and Lorene Head.

Memorial services and interment will be held in Independence, Missouri at a date to be determined.
