Willard G Miller

Willard Gene Miller was born on March 2, 1918 in McCleary, WA. He graduated from Olympia High School and was Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington with a B.A. and CPA.

Willard worked as a CPA for the Assistant Secretary Treasurer of Boeing for 2.5 years, after which he enrolled in Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia. He transferred to Dallas Theological Seminary a year later and received a Th.D from Dallas in 1949.

Barbara Harrah and Willard were married on March 30, 1951, she being a graduate of Seattle Pacific University. She died in December of 2007 from pancreatic cancer.

Willard pastored the following churches: North End Bible Church, Seattle, Wa., Mayflower Church, Pacific Grove, Ca., Calvary Baptist Church, The Dalles, Or., and First Baptist Church, Kirkland, Wa. After retiring from the ministry, Willard began a second career as a CPA with a firm in Salem, Oregon.

Upon retirement, Willard became a volunteer chaplain at the Perryville Prison. He was also integrally involved in Grace Bible Church in Sun City, Az., and led worship at the Plaza del Rio Care Center for several years.

Willard is survived by his daughter, Priscilla, his brother, Don, and sister, Ginger, and many nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Willard’s life will be held at the Sunland Memorial Park and Mortuary,15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351 at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014.
