Vincent Neil Nelson burst into this world on August 13,1977 at 11:29am at Saint Francis Hospital, Lynwood, California, with a quiet swagger that continued throughout his life. Neil went to his eternal home on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Sun City, Arizona. Neil accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Dr. William (Bill) Brent, at the Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church and he and his family later united with the Berean Bible Church of Phoenix, Arizona. Neil attended Heavenly Vision Christian School in Los Angeles where he first began to learn of the love of God. He graduated from Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California and moved to Atlanta, Georgia to further his education. In 1999, he obtained a Certificate in Visual Communications from Atlanta Technical Institute. While in Atlanta, Neil met and married Toni Renee Greene and they began a family (three awesome children) Vincent Anthony, Rose Alexis and Joshua Leon. The family moved to Arizona in 2006 where Neil began his journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant. His journey included Maryvale Hospital, Banner Health and later Veterans Administration Hospital. Neil, as he was affectionally known, was a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey was marked by love, compassion and his faith in God. Those who knew Neil will remember him for his infectious smile and pranks.
Vincent Neil leaves to cherish his memories: His mother Barbara Nelson; Toni Renee, the mother of his three adorable children (Vincent Anthony, Rose Alexis, and Joshua Leon); granddaughter Nami Rose Clark; his sisters Juliana Vargas and Verneda Lewis; fiancée Precious Blake; Aunts LaDon, Debbera, LaLeatha, Cheryl; Uncle Zara; dear friends Dayshawn, Victor, Alvie, Myron, Eugene, and a host of cousins and friends that will miss him dearly. Neil, my son. The light, the joyfulness, the grin, the hugs, the laughs all gone in a moment. Though you are far from my physical sight, I have precious memories that are forever in my heart. You have always been a blessing — easy to love and be proud of. I will truly miss you. Love, Mom Neil, I will always remember you as a lover of fitness. How you walked or ran through the neighborhood with your dog. I will miss the times we shared just talking about stuff. I love you. Aunt Deb Our father was a man of faith, strength and love. He walked humbly with God and led his family with grace, patience and quiet strength. His life was a living testimony of God’s love, always giving, always kind, always faithful. We are grateful for the good times we had together. We take comfort in God’s promise that we will see him again. Until then, we will carry his love in our hearts and honor his life through our own. Rest in eternal peace, Dad. You are deeply loved and forever missed. Anthony, Rose, Joshua.
A memorial & celebration of life for Vincent will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Berean Community Fellowship Church, 3330 N 35th Ave. Phoenix, AZ. 85017.
