Sylvia Constance Sanders was born June 20, 1913 in Nelson County, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Reep. She was baptized and later confirmed in her faith at Center Lutheran Church, Mapes, North Dakota.
Sylvia received her Teaching Standard from Mayville State College and began teaching at Nelson County Elementary School and later at Wamduska School, North Dakota.
Sylvia moved with her parents and nephew Raymond Olson to the Flathead Lake area of Montana. There she taught in the Bigfork Elementary School; while there she received the Montana Teacher of the Year award. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Mayville State College in 1957.
Sylvia continued teaching in Bigfork, Montana and was married to Robert A. Sanders in 1968. A few years later they moved to Sun City, Arizona. Sylvia continued teaching as a substitute teacher until the age of 90 years.
In later years, after the death of her husband, Robert A. Sanders, she became a resident at Royal Oaks. Here she enjoyed participating in many activities and card playing with friends.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Mary Reep, husband Robert A. Sanders, sisters Evelyn LeDuc, Sophie Orvik, Thora Hanson, Thelma Erlandson, and Lillian Ness, brothers Steven, Melvin, Floyd and Leonard Reep.
She is lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, and their families who will miss her very much.
