Shelby Ann Wilson was born in Johnstown, PA on March 14, 1936 during one of the Johnstown floods. She passed into our Heavenly Father’s arms on Sept. 5, 2021, at the age of 85. Shelby lived a very full life. She met the love of her life, Larry Wilson, at Johnstown High School at the age of 14. They were married 7 years later in April 1957.
Shelby went on to get her RN license and practiced nursing at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and John C. Lincoln Medical Center in Phoenix while raising three children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who held the family together with Larry as they were stationed all over the U.S. and even to Germany during Larry’s service in the Air Force. Shelby was active in Willowbrook United Methodist Church as well as several Women’s and Nurses groups.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Larry, as well as three sons: Larry Jr. (Lonna), Gregg (Susan), Glenn (Gail); three grandchildren: Daniel (Sarah), Lindsey, Sean; brother, Herbert Wilson, and many nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Ernest and Ann Wilson and her young brother Butch. She will be missed.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Willowbrook United Methodist, 19390 N. 99th Ave. Sun City, AZ 85373 with Pastor John Ierley officiating in the Chapel.
