Rex Henry Paullus was born in Hampton Iowa on January 5, 1923 to Frederick and Clara Paullus. He peacefully passed into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on April 12, 2011. Rex was the third born of six children including: Ralph, Robert (deceased) Marie, Mildred and Phyllis.
In 1960 Rex hired Yvonne Gordon as a "presser" in the dry cleaners he managed in Arvada, Colorado. They became friends and later married in 1962 combining two families for a total of 7 children. Rex managed and owned dry cleaning businesses with his wife Yvonne in Colorado. In 1985 they moved to Sun City AZ where they much enjoyed the desert lifestyle.
He served his country during WWI in the Army/Air Corps and was awarded the Purple Heart along with various medals and honors.
Rex is survived by Yvonne Paullus, his wife of almost 49 years. Children are: Judy Lee Laird: daughter, Connie Kae Bateson: daughter, Pamela Cheryl Swanson: daughter, John Swanson: son-in-law, Rex Henry Paullus, Jr.: son, Angelina Maria Rosellen: daughter, Gary David Gordon: step-son, Melinda Gordon: daughter-in-law, Patricia Lynn Baker: step-daughter, and Peter Baker: son-in-law. Grandchildren are: Janet Shine, Loralee Laird, Lisa Dyer, Joelle Liedtke, Kurt Swanson, Rick Baldwin, Randy Baldwin, Tony Bateson, Jeffrey Rosellen, Mark Rosellen, Heidi Rosellen, Rex H. Paullus III, Charity Gordon, Nathan Gordon, Jared Gordon, Eric Gordon, Ryan Langan and Heather Langan. There are 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Rex was a very kind brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had such a gentle soul, a very sweet man, much loved and admired by so many. He enjoyed simple pleasures and loved his home and family. He will be greatly missed by all.
