Raymond William Johnson

Raymond W. Johnson, 89, of Sun City, AZ passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W Palmeras Dr. in Sun City, AZ 85373. Interment, alongside his wife Eleanor, will follow the mass at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, AZ.

He was born July 21, 1926 in Chicago, IL. Ray graduated from the Zenith School of Electronics. He retired from Veronda’s Music Store in Kankakee, IL. He was also a certified piano tuner. Ray served his country in the US Navy on the USS Bonhomme Richard from 1944 to 1946.

Ray and Eleanor retired to Sun City, AZ from Kankakee, IL in 1998. Eleanor passed away on July 20, 2005

Raymond is lovingly remembered by his four children: Linda Rae Turner of Washington, Keith and Debbie Johnson of Champaign, IL, Brian Johnson of Sun City, AZ, and family friend, Diane of Sun City, AZ, and Robin Marie Johnson and Vince Martell of Kankakee, IL; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor Josephine (Depcik) Johnson; four brothers; and a sister.
