Mark Richard Thompson Jr., 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 03, 2017 in Peoria, AZ. He was born November 26, 1928 in St. Louis, MO. Mark received his BS degree from St. Louis University in 1951 and then served in the US Army from 1951 – 1953. He married Patricia Henlock in 1954 and was married for 62 years. Mark worked for Monsanto from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. After moving to Sun City, he volunteered for 20 years at Westside Food Bank and was also a member of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church choir and long-time parishioner.
Mark leaves behind to cherish his memory – wife, Patricia Thompson of Sun City; children, Barbara Sincere (Jim) of Vancouver, WA, Jeanne Thompson of Gilbert, AZ, Nance Louis (Kirstie Christopherson) of Ashland, OR, John Thompson of Fenton, MO, Ed Thompson (Kimberly) of Maple Valley, WA, Mary Johnston of Richmond, VA, and Kathy Ward (Tim) of Mesa, AZ; Grandchildren - Joseph Sincere of Fort Campbell, KY, Jessica Ferguson of Richland, WA, Breanne Chenault of Rolla, MO, Nicholas Thompson of O’Fallon, MO, Kyle Denton of Seattle, WA, Nicholas Denton of St. Louis, MO, Luke Denton of Marshfield, MO, Melissa Palentino of Richmond, VA, Ryan Johnston of Richmond, VA, Cody Ward of Aurora, CO, and Randi Ward of Mesa, AZ; Great grandchildren – A.J. Ferguson of Richland, WA, Nolan Ferguson of Richland, WA, Elizabeth Sincere, Andrew Sincere, Braeden Sincere of Fort Campbell, KY, Anne Chenault of Rolla, MO, and McKenna Denton of St. Louis, MO.
Memorial Mass (preceded with military honors) will be Saturday, February 11, 11AM, at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ with a reception in the church hall to follow. Inurnment will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at a later date.
