Laveeta King Snyder passed away peacefully July 16, 2017 at the age of 92. She was born May 30, 1925 in Bellview, New Mexico to Gabriel and Ethel King. Laveeta met Earl Snyder in the fourth grade in Ms. Doak’s class in Grady, NM, population 82. Laveeta and Earl were on a picnic on December 7, 1941 when they heard over the radio in Earl’s ‘32 Ford Coupe that the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. Earl joined the Navy and Laveeta’s family moved to Bethany, OK so she could attend Bethany Nazarene College. Finally 35 years later on December 7, 1976 they came back together, married and lived for 41 happy years in the Phoenix area. Laveeta is survived by husband Earl, daughter Peggy Lawler of Overland Park, KS, son Hal French of Edmond, OK, stepdaughters Jane Sasser and Jimmye Dubuy of Phoenix. Laveeta was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She enjoyed china painting, sewing, cooking for her family, and socializing with her many friends. Laveeta was loved and will be missed by many.
