John C. Peterson, 96, passed away on August 1, 2017. He was born November 12, 1920 in Chicago, IL. John was a resident of Sun City for 37 years after having moved from Chicago. John retired from the Chicago Park District as an operating engineer.
His passion in life included geology, genealogy, square dancing and traveling. Preceding John in death was his wife of 75 years, Christine Peterson, and his daughter Diane Slou.
He is survived by his sister, Rosanna Roberson, brother-in-law, Jim Roberson, and son-in-law Jerry Slou. He was a loving grandfather of Kevin and Cathy Slou, Michael and Katie Slou; great grandfather of Alex, Logan, Matt, Brodie and Graycin Slou; and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Committal service with military honors will be Saturday, August 26, 2017, 11AM, at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351.
