He was the last of the bunch. Here he is with his brother and sisters.

He would always say when  he was my age he was 10 years older. 

I remember these days like they were yesterday.

Johnny and I met on New Years Eve.  He was 12 and I was 13.  We vowed that night we would be together on New Years Eve forever.  Alas, things didn’t work out that way but we remained friends forever.  The last time we talked to one another was New Years Eve 2021.  Rest In Peace my Friend.   “later”

He tought  me how to make popcorn 🍿 



I remember John as far back as when I was about seven years old. All of us kids,  and my brother were packed in the car and leaving my grandmother Allens house after saying goodbye to my dad. I was in the backseat with about four other, and I was crying and quiet. Johnny  was the only one that noticed how quiet I was and asked how I was and tryed to soothe me and make me feel better about leaving  my dad. I remember that.

Grandpa always said, "I'm running this Kool-Aid stand, I'm the one who makes me mad, sad or glad." 

For as long I could remember, my grandpa taught me about kindness, patience, humor, and mental health. He taught me about what it means to trust yourself , have the courage to make a mistake and forgive yourself for the ones made. He's no longer here, but his soul lives on, in the earth and in the stars. 
I love you; thank you for being my friend and life long mentor. 

John Parker became a friend to me later in his life. I had the priveledge of spending lots of time with him , even calling him Grandpa John. He treated me like his own, I considered him family.
