John Richard Levandowski

John Richard Levandowski, age 86, passed on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 in Sun City, Arizona. He was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania on November 27, 1933 to Jules and Nora (Sheehan) Levandowski. He was the oldest of four children. He is survived by his youngest brother Leo Levandowski and preceded in death by his sister Irene (Levandowski) Guiliano, and brother James Levandowski.

John lived a full and happy life. He attended Saint James High School in Chester, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1952. He joined the US Army in 1956 and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan until 1958. He was married to Evelyn Drda in 1960 and together they had two children, Lawrence Levandowski (married to Patricia) and Lynn (Levandowski) Stauffer (married to Ralph). He was grandfather to Mary (Levandowski) Mascari, Cathrine Levandowski, Craig Stauffer, and Maxwell Stauffer. He became a great-grandfather in July 2020 with the birth of Kinli Mascari.

Evelyn, his first wife of forty years, passed away in 2000. John later married Constance (Barnes) Levandowski in 2009 and she survives him.

John had several careers, working as an industrial engineer and maintenance manager for various companies in Ohio and Indiana in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1977 he joined the US Post Office; first as a postal clerk, and later working with the procurement and testing of mail scanning equipment in post offices across the country. He retired from the Post Office in 1990 and moved to Sun City, Arizona. He continued to work part-time as a contractor for the Post Office until he was 77 years old. He also served a term as the President of the local chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFEE).

His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 11th at 10AM at Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary. He will be laid to rest and placed with his first deceased wife Evelyn with Military Honors at the Arizona National Memorial Cemetery in the future.
