On September 11, 2021 at 12:52 am, age 45, John passed away peacefully at his home in Surprise, Arizona. John lost his battle with cancer, he was taken away from us too soon. Knowing for sure our heavenly father wanted him to come home to serve a bigger purpose. John E. Jones is survived by his daughter Payton Jones (Lindsay), parents John W. and Cathleen Jones; and two wonderful sisters, Karey Jones-Salgado and Kim Davey (Ed), and multiple extended family members and friends.
John E. Jones was a native to Arizona. He graduated from Peoria High School in 1996. After graduating John and Lindsay married and had Payton. John served his community as a firefighter and paramedic of El Mirage and Surprise cities, Wildland Firefighting, Flight Medic, and an Emergency Nurse. John was respected and loved by many people that came into his life, and his greatest joy was helping others. John’s ability was taking charge, being a go-getter, hard worker and knowing what needed to be done. He never backed down from any challenge and even made sacrifices for countless individuals he never knew. He traveled to New York during the beginning and unknown stages of the pandemic, not knowing the conditions or patient complexities that he would face. He never backed down from the assignment to care for all those with Covid-19. Upon his return he continued this work until his diagnosis. Not only was he a hero to so many but he was an amazing Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and friend to all.
John’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. Being a prankster at heart, you never knew when he was going to scare you next. He loved to go camping, fishing, hiking and to go on trips to Disneyland. The one thing that John loved to do was play the bagpipes.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate John’s wonderful life at Sunland Memorial Park and Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 23rd from 5pm-8pm. Service is on Friday, September 24th and will start at 10am.
John’s favorite color was blue. All are encouraged to wear their favorite blue colors.
