Celebrating the Life of Janice Lewis. With hearts both saddened and filled with the hope of eternal life, we announce the passing of Janice Lewis, who entered into the Lord’s embrace on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband Vernon; her father, Arnold Severson; her mother, Agnes Severson; her brother, Orville Severson; and her sisters, Mae Bastian, Joyce Bennett, Dorothy Severson, Ferne Harmell, and Shirley Sevelin. Janice was born in Ottawa, Illinois. She moved to California with her mother and father, and spent 12 years as a bookkeeper for Sears before meeting her husband.
Janice was introduced to Vernon Lewis by his aunt Verna, who also was Janice’s co-worker. The two fell in love and were married February 25, 1968. Janice was a long-time member of West Olive Church of Christ, where she regularly attended services and, for several years, served as a Care Group Leader alongside her husband, Vernon Lewis. Upon her husband's retirement, Janice moved with him to Sun City, Arizona. She is survived by her loving son, Rich Lewis, her niece, Sheila Harmell, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held at Sunland Memorial Park Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am. The burial will begin at 11:00 am.
