Jack L. Oliver

After a courageous two year battle with cancer, Jack Leonard Oliver, 76, died at Moon Valley Assisted Living on Friday, April 12, 2013. Jack was born in Cortland, New York on November 15, 1936, and graduated from Groton High School. He moved his family to Phoenix in 1972. He worked as a Data Base Manager for the Arizona Department of Transportation for 26 years until retiring in 1998. He received several awards and recognition, including outstanding employee. Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Audrey, a daughter Darlene Watkin of Scottsdale AZ, a son, Brian (Kim) Oliver of Chandler, AZ, a brother, Kendell (Marie) Oliver of N. Chili, NY, a sister, Dawn (Don) Frutchey of Ithaca, NY, three grandchildren, Cole and Shelby Watkin of Scottsdale, AZ, and Kyra Oliver of Chandler, AZ and many nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Sunland Memorial Park & Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Viewing will be held at 1:30pm, with funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Entombment will be held at Sunland Memorial park at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 W Flower Street, Ste. 2, Phoenix AZ 85014.
