I was stunned by the news of Frankie's passing.  I went to high school and to Cal with Frankie and remember his infectious smile and winning attitude like it was yesterday.  I will always remember playing dunk ball on the  9 ft hoops at Vallecito elementary.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dear Mattox Family, 
Although I did not know Frank as an adult, I have enduring memories of  'Frankie' as a young man and as a teammate at AHS.  In addition to being a superbly talented and gifted athlete, Frankie had a charm and charisma that would light up the room.  Although many years have passed since then, I will always remember the twinkle in his eye as if it was just yesterday.  My deepest sympathies go out to you.

I really enjoyed being Frank's assistant when he was the Mariners farm director.  He was a great guy and a good friend.  I will always remember his big smile and laugh.  Frank loved his family and my thoughts & prayers are with Sylvia, Myles, Blake and Marisol.

My condolences to the Family of Mr. Frank L. Mattox, Jr.  He was a very well loved man and he will be missed.

Hi Auntie and family. From all of us (Ralph, Ray, Des, Pam, Linda and Rick) our cousin Frank will be missed. We will always be here for you and Silva to lean on for support and love. You have our prayers and love. Frank was like my little brother and I have great memory of us growing up together, not sure how to fill the hole but we will go forward together.

We have only wonderful memories of Frankie from his playing days at Cal when our son served as Cal's batboy.  Frankie had a wonderful smile, was always cheerful and upbeat, was a joy to watch play ball, and was kind and considerate to our young son.  We always loved seeing him return to visit Cal. I am so sorry for your loss.  Frank touched everyone he came in contact to.  He had a smile that could light up a room.  From the day I first met him, he always took a genuine interest in how I was doing both professionally and more importantly, how me and my family were doing.  In 2009 as I was expecting my first child later that year, we talked often about family and raising children.  I could see how important family was to him and I was so appreciative of the words of wisdom that he gave me.  He will never be forgotten.

Frank was a serious scout with a good sense of humor, two of the things in life that I respect most.  We shared a few games together throug the years and always enjoyed his comaraderie. I will miss him.  Condolences to your family.
