Doris C Keough

Doris C. Keough 95, of Sun City, AZ, passed away November 26, 2011. She was born in Detroit, MI to Arthur J. and Margaret M. Chanter and also resided in South Bend, IN, Buffalo, NY, the greater Boston, MA area including 34 years in Needham, MA before retiring to Sun City West, AZ in 1987.

Doris graduated from the Buffalo Seminary in 1934 and Vassar College in 1938 and attended Bryant and Stratton College business school. She worked as a secretary for Marriott Hotels in Newton, MA and the Longyear Foundation in Brookline, MA. Doris was very devoted to her church, First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA and First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sun City West, AZ.

She loved her church work as well as travel, animals and animal causes, music and theater, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Bobby Orr and the Boston Bruins. She was also a member of the Needham, MA Republican Town Committee.

Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert S. Keough, sisters Frances C. Darrin and Helen Phalen. She is survived by her loving children, Janet K. Norman and husband Wm. Kenneth Norman and Robert A. Keough and wife, Janis Allison Keough; grandchildren, Christopher Norman, Peter Norman, Ryan Keough, Julia Keough and Douglas Keough as well as several nieces and nephews.

A simple, intimate memorial service will be held in Sun City West area after the first of the year, details forthcoming.
