Doris Ellen Hamel

Doris was born in Lexington, Virginia on August 1, 1937. Growing up in the mid 19th century of America she was able to enjoy much of what the 1950's and 1960's had to offer. She was always up for going out to eat at her local favorite spots with her husband and children. Family would tell you she loved to dine and shop anytime she could but was never really a cook herself and never quite fell in love with what some of us would consider the "chore" of cooking. During her you she loved music, dancing and enjoying the evenings with her friends. Doris was always one for a good movie and her and her daughter enjoyed seeing movies together when they had a chance. Doris instilled the will to travel into everyone she knew. She once took her RV with her husband across the United States stopping and enjoying the various scenes our beautiful country has to offer. She resided in Oregon for some time then in 2007 Doris and her husband Jack Hamel made Sun City West their home.

Above all else. Doris was a devout Christian and believed in treating others as one's self. She always was willing to lend a helping hand and an ear to those who just needed someone to talk to. She believed in walking with the Lord in every aspect of your life and showing the love of Jesus to everyone around.

Doris will be remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Dennis Kairit and their children Austin and Dylan. Doris will also be remembered by her son and daughter-in-law Marty and Mary Bertram and their children Tiffany and Stephanie. Doris is also remembered by her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Rose Bertram and their children Tyler, Kelee and Blake. Doris's memory will also live on with her 3 great grandchildren. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband Jack at a private burial at Sunland Memorial Park. Doris was a deeply loved woman and will be equally missed by all who knew her.
