Donald is survived by his wife Virginia, whom he cherished for over 48 years. He is also survived by his two sons, Daniel and Raymond; three daughters, Kristina, Gail and Kathy; brother,
Charles and sister, Evelyn. Donald was preceded in death by one son Donald Jr.; three brothers, William, Robert and Jack; sister, Margaret.
Donald spent many years working as an auto body repairman. He eventually went on to own and operate his own successful business Knapp Distributing, Inc. which manufactured battery terminal protectors and distributed the automotive additive line BG Products.
After selling the business in 1997 he and Virginia enjoyed their retirement years ahead with 1000s of miles of RV travel, antique collecting and casino stops for poker playing. One of their favorite stories was about the times that they would have to sleep in hotel rooms because the RV was too packed with antiques to sleep in by the time they headed home.
Donald was a kind, generous and loving man. Anyone who knew him appreciated his huge heart and keen sense of humor. He never failed to make those around him feel loved, especially his precious Ginny, whom he told daily how much he loved her and how beautiful she is.
Though we will miss him more than words can convey, we take comfort in the knowledge that he is whole again in the presence of his Savior.
Services were held January 27, 2018 at Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, AZ.
Charitable contributions in Donald Knapp Sr’s name can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
