Dolores (Dee) Fel’Dotto Wells, 102, of Sun City West, passed away on June 6, 2018 at home with her daughter. Dee was a ray of sunshine in our lives, always smiling, laughing, and being kind to others. She was known for great parties and spreading joy wherever she went.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Augustine officiating. Internment alongside her beloved husband John at Sunland Memorial Park in a private family ceremony on Sunday.
Dolores (Dee) was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph Henry and Clara Charlotte Fel’Dotto on June 2, 1916. She married John C. Wells on July 6, 1981 in Washington, D.C. She worked as a secretary on Capitol Hill for many years, including for Congressmen, Senators and the Secretary to the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate. She was a regular fixture in the political scene of Washington DC, as well as a devout Catholic who worked with the archdiocese there. Dolores had the privilege of meeting two sitting Popes while they toured Washington and again when she and John visited Italy. John and Dee were very active in the Ex-Press club of Sun City, were founding members of the Mac Club in Sun City West and she was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Clara Fel’Dotto; her husband John Wells; and her siblings who were always close to her heart; Alois, Maarie, Joseph, Justin, Clara, Lucille, Leon, Victor and Leonard.
Dee Wells is survived by her son Jack Wells and daughter Carol Wells Lawson and her husband; Grandchildren Elienne Lawson and Arielle Lawson, her husband and her children Mykaela Lawson-Ho, Jade Lawson-Ho, and Torrin Lawson-Ho; Dee’s nephew Erik Fel’Dotto, his wife and daughters Nicole and Jessica, niece Inger-Monika Fel’Dotto-Pereyra, her husband and her 3 children, nephew Jerry Fel’Dotto, his wife and his 4 children, niece Faith Fel’Dotto, her husband and her 3 children, and niece Linda Somerville and her 2 children.
Dee always knew she would live a long and healthy life and her family all gathered to celebrate her 100th birthday. She was close with her family and always generous with those she loved. Dee was happy that she was able to know her grandchildren and many of her great nieces and nephews, so much so that she was nicknamed “Great” for the last years of her life.
