Dolores is survived by her husband, Sylvester "Dutch" Svoboda; her son Dean Svoboda; and her brother Lee Erger.
Dolores was born September 21, 1927 in Canton, South Dakota to Ray and Thelma (Primrose) Erger. She grew up on farms near Fairfax and Walford, Iowa before moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa after she married.
Dolores was a public elementary school teacher for many years in the Atkins and Cedar Rapids School Districts. She held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Coe College.
Dolores and "Dutch" were married in 1947. They had known each other since grade school. "Dutch" owned and operated "Duchess Dry Cleaners" in Cedar Rapids. Dolores also worked there after school and on weekends.
Dolores and "Dutch" retired and moved to Sun City in 1974 where they lived an active lifestyle. Dolores loved traveling in their motorhome, ballroom dancing and Dixieland Jazz Festivals. In later years, Dolores enjoyed regular trips to Laughlin, Nevada where she could sit and watch the Colorado River.
Dolores was a devoted and loving wife and mother and always had a smile for others. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
