Dear Dutch and Dean,. I was sorry to learn the news that Delores passed.  Haven't seen you for a long time but I have so many fond memories growing up and spending a lot of time on Summit Ave. I had a lot of years where I felt like Delores was my second mom. She was always a very thoughtful person. I always remember her dancing up a storm at that dance hall venue in Walford.  Wishing you strength and fond memories in this time of grief.  Craig King

Dear Dean and Dutch, 
I was so sorry to see that your Mom/ wife had passed away. I remember visiting with her 2 or 3 times at Taylor school when she and my Mom both worked there. That was before I ever met Dean. She was fun to visit with and always seemed so nice .  It is so hard to lose a parent. Your Great Memories will help you through. Some of the things that are so hard to  think about now will bring a smile to your face in the future as you remember all the good times.

Mrs. Svoboda was my third-grade teacher at Taylor Elementary School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I have fond memories of her. May she rest in Heavenly peace.



Dear Dutch and Dean,
Growing up in Cedar Rapids, I remember "Dutch and Dolores" from gatherings with my parents, Dorothy and Emil.  You probably were playing cards and arguing about why someone played a certain card, sharing in family reunions, having a drink or two and laughing a lot.  All good memories.  I even had my wedding dress cleaned and preserved at Dutchess Cleaners back in 1971.  We "Bohemies" are a loyal bunch....
Family is still strong glue for us and we hope that both your family and your friends help to sustain you now.

Although I never met Delores, my grandmother Mary Stepanek was a friend of her mother, Thelma, back in Cedar Rapids.  My grandma would always speak highly of Thelma and  the Svoboda family. Dean, you might remember me from Cleveland Elementary school. Just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you and your Dad at this time. Never easy to lose your Mom.

I loved talking to Delores & Dutch when I would walk my dog Milo.  Delores was such a very sweet lady.  She would talk about herself when she was a school teacher back in the day.  She told me about many things her & Dutch have done over the years.  They have known each other longer then anyone I know.  She did mention how she loved going to Laughlin, I thought she loved to gamble, but I now realized, she loved watching the Colorado River.  I will really miss her not sitting outside when I walk by.  May you rest in peace my friend!

My dog  Oreo and I liked visiting with Dolores on front porch, kitchen, or in garage when door was open!
She enjoyed talking about the good old days,
dancing, and church!!
