Dolores entered this world on August 28, 1925 in Flint, MI. She spent much of her adult life living in Royal Oak, MI., and she relocated to Phoenix, AZ in 1978. She spent 42 years with the telephone company before retiring in 1983 and then moving to Sun City, AZ. She was the first woman in Michigan to become a line test man.
DeeDee loved animals, traveling, music, cars and playing pool. She continued to play pool until this past February, when illness started to take hold of her life. She said shortly before passing, “I’ve had a great life with no regrets’. She did enjoy life to the fullest.
DeeDee is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Fleda (Getchaw) Oppenneer, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Roy West, Eula and Francis Kopina, and Joann Owen. Surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends, and of course, the joy of her life, her beloved dog, Tilly.
