David was born in Detroit and lived for a long time in Sterling Heights, MI, with his wife and two children.
Cook served in the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, from 1963-1966. He worked most of his life as a salesman, also for some years owning an auto repair and tire shop in Flushing, MI.
Upon moving to Sun City, Arizona in 1999, he first worked as a greens keeper and retired after working for six years in the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. He loved to go golfing, bowling, fishing and boating, and was an active member of Christ's Church of the Valley.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melton and Rose Cook and daughter Kimberly Ann Cook. Survived by his wife Nancy; son, David; daughter Laura and grandchildren Austin, Nathan, and Elliott.
