He grew up in Trenton, graduating high school in 1947. On April 2, 1949, he married a classmate, Mary Beth Shaffer, the love of his life. They were blessed with two children.
Curt worked much of his life with the bureau of reclamation. He furthered his engineering education while living in California. When Curt retired from the bureau, he was head of the department of estimates and contract administration.
His talents were many. He could envision a project, design, draft the necessary documents and then build it. During his many moves associated with his work, his love of "home" meant the world to him. He built a "gold medallion" home in Salida, Colorado for his family and a workshop for his retirement.
Upon his retirement, he and Mary Beth traveled and for a while were "snow birds" having "fun in the sun" in Arizona during the winter. Eventually, they moved to Sun City, Arizona from Salida, Colorado.
Curt will be remembered as a dedicated "born again" Christian, a loving and caring family man, a good neighbor and a loyal friend.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Beth, daughter Cathy Williams of Sun City, AZ., son Jeff (Debbie) of Wasilla, Alaska, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, one sister, Joyce Stupka.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
