Clayton C. Osgood, 92, passed away on November 24, 2012 in Glendale, AZ. Clayton was born in East Aurora, NY on April 7, 1920 to Leon and Florence (Chase) Osgood. Clayton graduated high school from Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville, NY and moved to Tonawanda, NY where he worked at Spaulding Fibre. He served four years in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific. After the war, Clayton returned to Tonawanda where he married Elda Bush in 1946 and there they raised three children. They were members of Salem United Church of Christ. Clayton went through an apprenticeship to become a bricklayer. He started out working for Balling Brothers and then worked for Holler Brothers until he retired in 1982. After retirement, Clayton and Elda enjoyed their time together babysitting grandchildren and traveling back and forth to Arizona. They moved to Peoria, AZ in 1999 where they joined First Presbyterian Church of Peoria. His dear wife, Elda, passed away in 2002. He missed her dearly and is now reunited with her in Heaven.
Clayton was preceded in death by his wife, Elda and his two brothers, DeAlton and Carlton. He is survived by his three children, Dennis (Sandra) Osgood of Surprise, AZ, Larry Osgood of Fuquay Varina, NC and Pam Osgood of Peoria, AZ as well as five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 8th at First Presbyterian Church of Peoria, 10236 N. 83rd Avenue, Peoria, AZ 85345. He will be laid to rest at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Peoria.
