Charles William Gast

Charles was born September 1, 1930. He was born in Shawano County, Shawano Wisconsin. He is a twin, he was named Charles and his twin sister is Charlotte. Charles was Baptized shortly after birth at Hermansfort Lutheran Church in the town of Herman Wisconsin. Charles went to a rural, one room school. He helped his parent farm untill he was 24 years old. Charles got married to Ruth Hermann on June 18th 1955. They moved to Sheboygan Wisconsin where he went into factory work for the Kohler Company. They had three children and moved to Kohler Village. The children Barbara, Jeanne and Martin were schooled in the Kohler. They went to Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler Wisconsin and they were confirmed there also. In 1976 they moved to Phoenix Arizona and Charles went to work for Goodyear Aero Space. He worked as a machinist and retired after many years. They moved to Cordes Lakes Arizona were they built a home that he was really proud of. He was a volunteer fireman in Cordes Lakes and loved that too. They also started the church in Cordes Lakes.

When the signs of Parkinsons started they moved back into the valley, to be closer to medical care. They lived in both Youngtown and Sun City.

After over 20 years battling his condition, Charles finished his life in Sun City.Charles is survived by his Wife, two sisters, three children, three grand children and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary, 10 am, funeral service will start at 11am, followed by entombment at 12 pm at Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery, Sun City, Arizona.
