Kay, age 99, passed away peacefully at Freedom Plaza Memory Care in Peoria, Az., on Sept 22, 2022, with her nephew John and his wife, Diane, by her side.
Kay was born on Dec 25, 1922 - yes, you are seeing how close she came to her 100th Birthday! Born in Manhattan, New York, she worked as a telephone operator and rose to the position of supervisor, during her 32 years of service.
Retiring in 1982, she moved to Phx., Az. and settled in Sun City in 1984. Needing to keep busy, she entered the Real Estate workforce and became a Million Dollar Seller! She was so proud! Retired in 2008.
Kay’s pleasures were gambling, traveling the country, Europe and cruises. On a more relaxed note, she enjoyed playing bridge, going to the movies and visiting her many friends.
Kay was an extraordinary woman, who was tough as nails, overcoming a fractured hip and fractured ankle, all within a year and half. She still came back fighting! We called her “our little firecracker”. Loved by so many whose lives she touched, whether at Independent Living, Asst’d Living or Memory Care, Kay left a piece of her heart! All admired her for her strength and vitality.
Kay is survived by her nephew, his wife, a great nephew and family and a great niece and family. And many longtime friends who were like family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sunlandmemorial.com for the Robbins family.
