Ada Esther Bain Bundschuh, age 103, of Avondale, Arizona, passed on Sunday, March 21, 2021. She was born on December 28, 1917, on a farm in Conde, South Dakota to Fred and Louise (Kurtz) Bain. She was the fourth of nine children. Her father died when she was twelve years old leaving her mother with nine children ages 9 months to 19 years old.
Ada met her husband Alex in high school and they married in 1939. After 58 years of a happy marriage, her husband passed away. Their life included four children: Georgia Brauer (Fred), Atlanta, GA; Janeen Atkins (Charles), Broken Arrow, OK; Jim Bundschuh (Markeeta), Goodyear, AZ; Jody Nichols (Forest), Hudson, WI. She had 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Ada taught school in a one room school in South Dakota. Her marriage took her to Aberdeen, SD, Kansas City, KS, New York, NY, Paris, France and London, England until retirement brought them to Arizona.
Ada was a devout Christian and was a founder and charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield Park, AZ. She remained sharp throughout her senior years living by herself and driving until her 100th birthday. Her kindness, sense of humor and love of family and friends governed her life. She will be missed.
Her life celebration will be held in the future pending due to COVID 19.
