Robert J. Klein

Bob was born on May 2, 1937 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the eldest son of Alfons and Julia Klein. He graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School and then proudly enlisted in the US Air Force. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Marg. They met in Pottsville - home of Bob’s favorite beer, Yuengling. Together they raised their six children in Long Island, NY and Miami, FL.

Bob retired from a long career in the airline industry beginning with 22 years at Braniff International Airlines and continuing with Ryder Aviation Sales. Before settling in The Villages in 2002, Bob and Marg enjoyed traveling the country for 5 years in their 28 foot RV, exploring and camping in 48 states while visiting friends and family along the way. Bob was an ingenious problem solver who could build anything and fix everything. He was famous for his world-class hugs.

Bob is survived by his beautiful wife Marg (Sullivan) Klein and his children: Donna Klein of Tallahassee, FL, Tina Klein (Pat Grimm) of North Andover, MA, Rob Klein (Janice) of Plano, TX, Judi Greene (Jim) of Sunrise, FL, Gabby Dimitrakis (Danny) of Pembroke Pines, FL and David Klein (Sylvia) of Miami, FL and 10 grandchildren – Stephanie, Amanda, Carly, Sarah, Travis, Hannah, Ryan, Michael, Briana and Natalia. Bob is also survived by his sister Joan (Vincent) Smith and brother James (Karen) Klein.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother, Joseph Klein.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, The Villages, FL on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 8:30am. A brunch will follow immediately after the Mass. Burial will follow in the Spring at St. John’s Cemetery in Pottsville, PA.
