She was a beloved wife, loving mother, and good-friend. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Harrison, her brother, Dale Kent Harrison, and her infant son, Gary Allen Khoury. She is survived by her much-loved husband and best friend of 67 years, Albert (Al) William Khoury, their five children, Connie and husband Lieutenant Colonel Ira Dan McCauley U.S.A.F. (retired) of Chesterfield, MO, Steve and wife Dianna (Diane) Khoury of Sulphur, LA, Susie and husband Randy Lyman of Pearland, TX, Vaughn Dale Khoury of Sulphur, LA, and Wade and wife Alma Khoury of
The Woodlands, TX, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her Brother, Vaughn Dean Harrison and wife Regina of Broken Arrow, OK. There are numerous others relatives.
Wyvonne was born in Tonkawa, OK and raised in Ponca City, OK. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1946. Her graduation present was a bus ticket to Sulphur, LA to visit a childhood friend, whose Father’s job was
relocated to the Lake Charles area. Wyvonne never returned to Oklahoma to live; she met and married, Al Khoury on September 14, 1946. She was member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church since 1952 where she taught Sunday school and was always involved in the church’s activities, events, and sponsored a 50th year cookbook for the church. She was active in the PTA and PTO. She was always happy while in the kitchen - she was a great cook, known for her cake catering business, Lebanese cooking, and most proud of her homemade bread. No matter what activity, vacation, or cruise she attended, when ask if she enjoyed herself : To Quote Wyvonne, ‘SHE HAD A BALL…’.
Funeral services for Wyvonne Khoury will be on Saturday, February 22 at 10 a.m. at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Mother Petroula Ruehlen will officiate. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 – 8 pm, Friday and resume Saturday at 9 am until time of service.
Pallbearers will be her five grandsons Dr. Ira Dan McCauley II, DVM; Stephen Khoury, II; Dr. Aaron McCauley, DVM; Casey Lee Khoury; Kallen Khoury; and her nephew, Burt Parham. Honorary Pallbearer will be her son-in-law: Randy Lyman.
