

He was a native of Johnson Bayou and had been a resident of Hackberry since the 1940’s. Wynne was a hard worker, retiring from Local 106 after many years of service as a pipefitter, and also owned a small engine repair shop in Hackberry where he never met a stranger. He was a member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church and the Hackberry Lions Club. He enjoyed bingo, fishing, and riding horses. Wynne will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Survivors include his three children, Donald Buford of Hackberry, Terry Buford and wife, Brenda of Carlyss, and Russie Rogers and husband, Randy of Lake Charles; his sister, Edna Hebert of Sulphur; eight grandchildren, Riki Buford, Brandon Buford, Joshua Buford, Katie Buford, Jennifer Teller, Patricia Rogers, Elizabeth Rogervick, and Carolyn Hunter; and one great-grandson, Robert Teller. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lily Mae Buford; a son, Keith Wayne Buford; daughter-in-law, Barbara Tietje Buford; two brothers, Ray “Rayboy” Buford and Charles “Bill” Buford; and a sister, Linda Buford.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry. The Rev. Rommel Tolentino will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume in the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Mark Lafuria and also the staff of Rosewood Nursing Home for their excellent care of Mr. Buford.
