

She was a native of Zanesville, Ohio, and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1957. She loved to work with flowers and also enjoyed sewing and crocheting gifts for her family. Virginia was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle and sang in the church choir for as long as she was able. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, William Kent Acheson and wife Susan of Carlyss, Sandra Sue Acheson Moss and husband Tom of Sulphur, and Don Taylor Moss and wife Melba of DeQuincy; two sisters, Corrine Hartmeyer and Mary Christine Watts, both of Ohio; 13 grandchildren, Theresa Moss Taliaferro, John Birdwell, Eddie Birdwell, Don Wayne Moss, Tina Adams, Kellie Cook, Kari Solomon, Tanya Gill, Kayla Ardoin, Jamie Birdwell, Peggy Garland, Bill Acheson and Philip Moss; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her spouses, William D. Acheson and Norman J. Trahan; and three children, Anita Louise Acheson Moss, Linda Lee Acheson Birdwell and John Rupert Acheson.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in Lighthouse Tabernacle in Sulphur. The Rev. Allan Upton will officiate. Burial will be in Hebert Cemetery in Hecker under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
