Vickie Lyn Winters, 69, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. She was born to her late parents, Sidney and Ester Martin on August 12, 1954 in Sulphur, Louisiana. Vickie enjoyed planting flowers, working with crafts, and fishing. She loved taking care of the children at Vincent Settlement Elementary in the Cafeteria for a number of years. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jerry Winters; son, Jay Winters (Rebekah) of Sulphur, Louisiana; siblings, Charles Martin, Jeffery Martin, Brendia Colligan, and Alice Gibson; along two grandchildren, Allie Winters and Philip Winters.
Vickie is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Sidney "Bubs" Martin, Jr.
A Celebration of Vickie's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:00 am, with Deacon Patrick LaPoint officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, from 8:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
