Sulphur- Stephen James Fontenot Sr, 63, died Saturday, February 21, 2015, in his residence. Stephen was a native of Oberlin and had been a resident of Sulphur for most of his adult life. He was a member of Our Lady of LasaletteCatholic Church and was a previous member of the Maplewood-Hollywood Lions Club. He had worked with H&H Metal for many years until his retirement in 2001. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Cameo Fontenot Watson and husband, Timothy of Sulphur, Chad Fontenot and wife, Tiffany of Lake Charles, and Stephen James Fontenot Jr and wife, Lou of Shreveport; his siblings, Wesley Joseph Fontenot Jr of Toledo Bend, Diana Amason of Texas, and Barbara Arceneaux, Della Duplechin, Dawana Trahan, and Phyllis Smith, all of Sulphur; eight grandchildren, Shannon Fontenot, Shayne Watson, Heaven Watson, Gracie Fontenot, Ashton Fontenot, Christian Fontenot, Ryver Fontenot, and Audrey Fontenot; and onegreat-grandchild, Khloe Fontenot.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Fontenot and Mary Touchet; a son, Shannon Troy Fontenot; a brother, Reginald Wayne Fontenot;
and two grandchildren, Deavon Ann Fontenot and Carey Lynn Watson. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wedneday, February
25, in Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church.
The Rev. Andrews Kollannoor, MS will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Pallbearers will be Chad Fontenot, James Fontenot, Timothy Watson, Wesley Fontenot Jr, Shannon Fontenot, Shayne Watson, Michael Sims, Brian Sims, Cuoz Matt, and CJ Matt.
