Sean Clayton Smith, 32, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. He was born on March 9, 1992 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He worked for the Sulphur and Lake Charles Police Department for a combined 8 years as the self titled, "Assistant to the Regional Sergeant". He was a Unofficial Lawyer. Sean adored his children and loved spending time with them any chance he got. He loved playing the guitar and singing in his spare time. Sean enjoyed being on the water with his family and friends. He was a Master BBQ Chef and truly was the cook of the household. Sean was very spontaneous and was always up for an adventure. Officially, he was the favorite GOLDEN child.
He is survived by his fiance', Kaylynn Vincent of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; children, Sean Clayton Smith, II, Tucker Paul Smith, Sophia Claire Smith, Leighann Vincent, Levi Vincent, and Lainey Vincent, all of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; parents, Thad and Lawree Carlin of Sulphur, Louisiana; biological father, Mark Smith of LeBleu Settlement, Louisiana; ex wife, Lenora Stidham of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandmother, Catherine Farque of Lake Charles, Louisiana; grandfather, Bill Landis of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brothers, Joshua Smith (Joannie) of Sulphur, Louisiana, Keeton Carlin of Sulphur, Louisiana; sisters, Megan McLeod (Colton) of Ragley, Louisiana, Haley Burns (Ben) of Orange, Texas, Khloe Carlin of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Heather Carlin of Lake Charles, Louisiana; special father figure, Gregory Martin of Sulphur, Louisiana; along with 15 nieces and nephews.
Sean is preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommy and Loretta Carlin, Clifford and Mary Smith, Lawrence Fontenot; and two uncles, Robert Landis and Nolan Fontenot.
A Celebration of Sean's life will be held at Victory Worship Center in Sulphur, Louisiana on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Greg Cavenah officiating. Visitation will be at Victory Worship Center on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the church on Friday, from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff, Louisiana.
