She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. Patsy worshipped at Water’s Edge Church of Lake Charles, and was a member of V.F.W. Post #8107 Ladies Auxiliary. Patsy did nothing in an ordinary fashion. She lived an uncompromising life devoted to loving her family, finding new experiences and creating memories which will last longer than time measures. She spread love wherever she went. She was fiercely independent, unerringly loyal and amazingly regal.
Survivors include her children, Charles Allen Carlin and wife Sandra, Larry Dickson Carlin and wife Karen, Bert Thomas Carlin Jr., Brenda Ann Doering and husband Chief, Kerry Lynn Carlin and Marcus Benny, all of Sulphur, and Amelia Elaine “Millie” Singley of Dequincy; daughter-in-law, Florence Carlin of Sulphur; sister, Artie Wyninger of Sulphur; and a plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Patsy has gone to join her beloved husband, Bert Thomas Carlin Sr.; children, Melvin Thomas Carlin and Mark Ira Carlin; and siblings, Roland LeBrun, Roy LeBrun, Louis LeBrun, Frances Franklin, Lottie Landler, Ada Lejeune, Evelyn Haynes, Nellie Stout, Morris LeBrun, Chuck LeBrun and Dorothy Wilkerson. She is finally home.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Mitchell Mora will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
